Начиная с версии Paludis 0.60.0 Released. Paludis считается устаревшим.
... paludis is deprecated. Use 'cave' instead.
Заменой его стал cave.
Для того, чтобы обновить дерево portage:
cave sync
Для того, чтобы вывести все установленные пакеты:
cave resolve everything
Затем просто добавьте -x, чтобы приступить к переустановке всей системы:
cave resolve everything -x
cave работает так же как и paludis в том плане, что у вас есть набор для выбора обновления:
# cave print-sets
everything

installed-packages
installed-packages::installed
installed-slots
installed-slots::installed
